Marine Roussel joined her family's winery, Domaine du Joncier, in 1989 after first pursuing a graphic design career in Paris and Marseille. The estate was established in 1964, but since Marine has taken over, the direction has changed toward a natural approach that captures the authenticity of the region. She makes wines from the Rhône Cru (subregion) of Lirac in all three colors and is one of the top producers in the area. The vineyards are certified biodynamic, the wines fermented with native yeasts, and total production is under 10,000 cases annually.

The L'O du Joncier CdR 2014 is a blend of 98% grenache and 2% cinsault. Bright cherry and red fruit aromas continue on the palate with excellent acidity and soft tannins. It's a lighter style CdR with significant minerality, which adds interest to a friendly, versatile wine. It's a good one to pair with friends on a Friday night, telling stories, making jokes and  just the tiniest bit of gossip.
